JOIN USRedmi Note 7S with 48MP dual-camera debuts in India
As teased, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 7S in India on May 20. Going by the spec sheet, it is the rehashed version of the generic Redmi Note 7 model.
The highlight feature of the Redmi Note 7S is the photography hardware. It boasts 48MP dual-camera with Sony IMX578 sensor, same as seen in the Note 7 Pro version. It features a 1/2-inch sensor with F1.8 aperture, thus guaranteeing good quality images even under low light conditions. It also comes with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based feature, which is capable of intuitively identifying the type of scenes such as beach, flower, landscape, and others, and optimise the camera to capture the best possible picture.
On the front, it houses 8MP with beautification and portrait modes, which will enable users to adjust skin tone and other complexities best suited for sharing the selfies on social media platforms.
Rest of the hardware of the Redmi Note 7S include Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core Android Pie-based MIUI 10 and a 4,000mAh battery, which is more than enough to keep the phone running for more than a day under mixed usage.
It will be offered in two configurations- 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage--for Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999. It will come in Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, Onyx Black colour variants and on go on sale at 12 PM May 23 on Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Homes, with availability in offline stores to start the next day (May 24) onwards.

Xiaomi's new phone will be up against the Moto G7 Power and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, among others. If the Note 7 Pro is beyond your budget, then the Redmi Note 7S is the best alternative, which is not only cheaper but also boasts great camera the same as the former.
