The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday disposed a petition challenging the rejection of representation by the High Court Registrar General.

Justice A S Bopanna disposed the petition filed by Aishwarya R, a postgraduate who had moved the court challenging the rejection of her representation.

Aishwarya R had given a representation to the registrar for postponing the date of examination for the post of a translator in the high court.

The petitioner stated that on October 16, 2017, a notification was issued for the post of translators in the high court and the examination for the post would be conducted on June 3, 2018.

She applied for the post. The petitioner added that thereafter she also applied to appear for the civil services examination. Later, she found that the date of the civil services exam was the same as that of the examination for the post of a translator.

She added that on April 28, 2018 she made a representation to the high court registrar requesting him to allow her to appear for the examination for the post of translator on an alternative day.

The registrar rejected her representation on May 21, 2018 on the ground that a separate examination cannot be conducted for one applicant as it will be injustice to all other applicants who are appearing for the examination on June 3.

The court also felt that a separate examination cannot be conducted for one applicant and thus rejected the petition.
