Direct flight between Bengaluru and Mysuru from June 7

Air travel between Bengaluru and Mysuru is set to be a reality once again. Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India will commence operations between Bengaluru and Mysuru from June 7 under the regional air connectivity scheme UDAN 3.0 (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik).

Confirming the development, Member of Parliament from Mysuru-Kodagu Pratap Simha said in a tweet that he would flag off the inaugural flight on June 7 from Kempegowda International Airport. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha for facilitating air services between the two cities under the UDAN scheme in the state.

The first flight will take off from Bengaluru at 10.30 a.m. and land at the Mandakalli airport in Mysuru at 11.25 a.m. On its return journey, the flight will take off at 12 noon and land at Bengaluru at 1 p.m.

Currently, Alliance Air operates air services to 53 destinations with a fleet of 16 ATR 72-600 (70-seater) and 2 ATR 42-320 (48-seater) aircraft. Flights are operated mostly to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities or those that link these cities to the metro hubs. Alliance Air has 800 flight departures per week and 114 flight departures per day. It operates flights to 53 destinations in India.
