Fire broke out at CHP-1 conveyor belt at Raichur Termal Power Station's (RTPS) coal section in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The conveyor belt supplies coal to power generation units. A 500-metre belt, cables and motors were gutted in the incident.
The RTPS, YTPS and the personnel of Fire and Emergency Services Department extinguished the fire. The cause for the fire is yet to be ascertained. A team has been set up to find out the cause, an officer told DH.
