JOIN USDistrict in-charge minister R V Deshpande has said that the income-tax raid on the residences of BJP leaders in the district was only "symbolic."
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Deshpande said that the I-T raids in the state were only selective since only the residences of Congress and JD(S) leaders were being targeted. "In my opinion, is not right to conduct raids on the houses of politicians during election time. The raids on BJP leaders are intended to establish that there had been no discrimination," Deshpande said. The minister was in Bhatkal to campaign for the Congress-JD(S) coalition candidate for Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency.
He said that the BJP leaders should give an explanation about the cash found in the house of their workers. Deshpande said that there was no dissent about the coalition candidate in the constituency and the workers of both the parties would strive for victory of coalition candidate.
