11-year-old dresses as JD(S) insignia to support Nikhil

This 11-year-old girl, dressed with green saree, holding a bundle of green grass, has come all the way from Hoskote in Bengaluru to Mandya, to extend support to Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy' son, Nikhil, who is filing nomination to contest from Mandya Lok Sabha segment.

Meet S Monica, who underwent bone marrow transplantation, in 2016. Kumaraswamy lent financial support of Rs 30 lakh to save the girl.

According to Monica's mother H V Sandyarani, Monica was suffering from Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD) is an inherited primary immunodeficiency disease (PIDD), and the doctors suggested for bone marrow transplantation.

"We had approached many leaders and also applied for financial support but, nothing worked. Finally, when we approached Kumaraswamy at his residence in Bengaluru, he immediately responded and arranged for the treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru. Now, my child is 100% recovered and leading a normal life," she thanked Kumaraswamy.

"Kumaraswamy gave rebirth to my child and it's my responsibility to support his son and thus voluntarily came to Mandya to support Nikhil," she said.

Monica's father Sampangi is a car driver and not in a position to spend the treatment cost. However, the family had spent nearly Rs 15 lakh, earlier.
