In a warning, BJP leader Basangouda Patil Yatnal was told not to cross the party line in relation to the Panchamasali reservation issue.

Yatnal, a BJP MLA from Vijayapura city, was summoned by the party to Delhi on Monday. He briefly met BJP national president J P Nadda, who warned of action if Yatnal did not follow the party's line.

Expressing displeasure over Yatnal's actions over the past few months, Nadda asked him to raise any issues with the party forum, not publicly and asked him to appear before the disciplinary committee.

The committee comprising two members- Satyadev Singh, BJP MP from Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh and Bijoya Chakravarty, Lok Sabha MP from Guwahati.

Yatnal is likely to meet other leaders including Nadda on Tuesday.

The party's top leaders are of the view that enough opportunity was given to Yatnal in the party forum to raise issues related to party affairs in Karnataka.

"When the party is seized of the matters flagged by him, he should not have continued to attack the CM publicly," said a leader.

By attacking the CM, Yatnal has damaged both the government and the party's reputation, said the leader.

The party has already served a notice to Yatnal and sought his explanation about his open criticism against Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and his family members.

However, the party leaders were upset when Yatnal continued his attack against the CM.
