Three people were injured in a clash between online cab aggregator Ola and members of the Bajpe Airport Taxi Owners’ Association at the Mangaluru International Airport on Wednesday.

The injured youth in the Ola cab have been identified as Sangamesh, Rakesh and Ratan.

Sources at the airport said that a passenger from Hyderabad, on alighting at the airport, hired an Ola cab. Members of the Bajpe Airport Taxi Owners’ Association took objection to the presence of an Ola cab driver at the airport and got into a heated exchange. A scuffle broke out and three youths were injured.

Sources at the Bajpe police station said that, based on the complaint of Sangamesh, a case has been booked against eight people.

Three people have been arrested and the search for the remaining five accused is on. The Association members filed a counter case against Sangamesh, the sources added.
