<p>The latest collection from Global Desi, the well-known label of designer Anita Dongre, is out in the stores. Designed in collaboration with Aseema, an NGO for underprivileged women and children in Mumbai, you can be assured that the clothes you will get are of the best designs and colours.<br /><br />Bright and beautiful <br /><br /><br /></p>.<p>As the name suggests, ‘Global Desi’ offers an array of ethnic clothes with a contemporary touch to suit your style. “The collection is predominantly in cotton fabric,” explains Anita Dongre, the creative director of ‘Global Desi’. “We have used a lot of colourful prints in this collection. <br /><br />The inspirations have come from the children of Aseema,” she adds. “The designs are based on the paintings made by these children. Most of the paintings done by the kids were based on underwater themes. So my entire team of textile designers created the collection based on these paintings,” she notes. <br /><br />‘Global Desi’ is a treat for the women who love ethnic wear. There are ‘kurtas’, tops, tunics, leggings etc in a host of colours available at the store. “The colours we have used are all bright — shades of red, blue and yellow. There is a school of colours in the collection,” says Anita. Apart from these, one can even find hues of pink, purple, white and green. To sum it up, you have ethnic designs available in the colours of your choice. <br /><br />As far as accessories are concerned, one can go for a range of earrings and bangles. “The accessories haven’t been done specifically for this collection. They are available at the store throughout the year,” she explains. About the footwear, she says, “We have some really colourful Indian footwear to complement the clothes.” <br /><br />According to Anita, the USP of this collection is the styling and the beautiful bright prints. Does she have any fashion tips for the youngsters? “Bangalore is an extremely well-dressed City. Besides, today’s young understand what style is. <br /><br />So just walk into a ‘Global Desi’ store, mix and match the clothes and create your own style statement.
