There have been a number of food festivals happening in the city to satiate taste buds of Delhiites. But now it’s the time for an ice cream festival! A mini ‘Ice Cream City’ will take place in the city where more than 300 flavours of ice cream will be on offer.

Organised by I Haat Delhi, the festival will see participation from Delhi’s 20 finest ‘ice-creamers’, showcasing a variety of frozen delights that include nitrogen ice cream, Italian gelato, ice cream rolls, some international flavours, kulfi, ice creams made with natural ingredients, popsicles and many more.

“Six months ago we joked about creating an ice cream bar with maximum number of flavours under one roof and this is how the idea of this festival came into being. Brands have always touted the number of flavours they have, but never combined them to present hundreds of flavours, all in one space. This festival will help people to explore various forms that ice cream is taking,” says Aporajito Bose, founder, I Haat Delhi.

“Ice cream is something we have all grown up with and is one of the few things that still get adults excited. We aim to bring Delhiites together and spread joy, and ice cream seemed to be exactly what was needed to achieve this goal.  ”

The three-day festival will not be only about delicious scoops, but it will also witness ‘The Ice Cream Games – 2015.’  Eight different competitions such as Speed Blind Tasting, No Hands Challenge, King Kone – the tallest ice cream cone, The Fastest Ice Cream Eating Challenge will be held, after which the winner will given the ‘Ice Cream Cup’.

“Everybody talks about food and its taste. But hardly anyone knows what’s happening in the ice cream world. Ice Cream City will see participants from around the city. There will be ice cream trucks, stalls and trolleys that will convert the venue into a mini ice cream city,” says Benu Sehgal, vice president, DLF Utilities Ltd. and mall head, DLF Place, Saket.
The festival will take place at DLF Place, Saket from October 30 to November 1. Time: 1 pm – 9 pm. Entry is free.
