The city police have beefed up security ahead of the Ayodhya judgement on Saturday.

Police commissioner Bhaskar Rao directed all police officers to ensure strict patrolling in all places, including sensitive and hypersensitive areas. He asked them not to allow anyone to celebrate or mourn the judgement.

Rao told DH that he had a series of meetings with senior officials regarding the security arrangements.

Fifty platoons of KSRP and 30 platoons of the city armed reserve and paramilitary forces would be deployed and all DCPs and ACPs have been instructed to station themselves at strategic key locations, besides parading in sensitive areas. Besides, Section 144 will be
imposed in sensitive areas.

Security has also been tightened across the state, with the deployment of 54,000 civil policemen, along with 107 platoons of KSRP personnel, numbering 4,000.

Rapid Action Force will be stationed at strategic locations. The district administrations have been instructed to take note of sensitive areas.
