All 11 elected unopposed to Upper House

All the 11 candidates belonging to the BJP, the Congress and the JD(S) were on Monday declared elected unopposed in the elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council.

N Ravi Kumar, S Rudre Gowda, Raghunath Malkapure, Tejaswini Gowda, K P Nanjundi (all BJP), K Govindaraj, C M Ibrahim, Aravind Kumar Arali, K Harish Kumar (all Congress) and B M Farookh and S L Dharme Gowda (both JD-S) were declared elected to the Upper House.

Monday was the last day for the candidates to withdraw their nomination papers. There were only 11 candidates in the fray for 11 council seats.

Eight of the 11 elected members collected their certificate of election from the returning officer.
