The Congress on Monday said the parliamentary elections on seven Delhi seats would be a direct fight with the BJP as the AAP was in no position to give a challenge.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said, “The Congress will have a direct fight against communal forces like the BJP.”
He said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be wiped out from the city in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Sharma, a former legislator, said people were frustrated with the lies spread by the former AAP government in the city headed by Arvind Kejriwal.
“Kejriwal would have to face protest demonstrations against him,” he said at a rally here.
Kejriwal, who was responsible for the frequent power cuts, was afraid of addressing large meetings in Delhi, Sharma said.
He accused the BJP of not taking any interest in the problems of the common people.
Congress workers have been asked to intensify their fight against the BJP, he said.
During the BJP rule in Delhi, not a single flyover was built and no schemes were formulated for the city’s development, he said.
Sharma attacked the BJP at a large gathering as part the party’s “Pol Khol Abhiyaan,” held under the leadership of Bhoomi Chhattar Singh Rachhoya, at Ambedkar Bhawan, Kirari in the Mundka Assembly constituency.

Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP chief Harsh Vardhan also chaired a meeting on preparations for the Lok Sabha polls and met the all the 70 party candidates who contested Delhi Assembly elections at the Delhi unit office.
Apart from asking party office bearers to activate workers in their areas, he also interacted with members of the party’s Mahila Morcha.
Mahila Morcha president Sudha Sharma held a separate meeting of workers of East Delhi parliamentary constituency.
