A 15-year-old girl was forcibly stripped and photographed by five men in east Delhi’s Patparganj village. Two culprits have been arrested, police said.
On Wednesday afternoon, when the class 9 student at the local Sarvodaya school was at her home, a six- or seven-year-old boy – her best friend’s younger brother – knocked at her door.
He told the victim that his sister wanted to meet her at their home, said a police officer investigating the case. The unsuspecting victim went along with him, the officer said.
As the two were going through a narrow lane, the kid asked her to stop in front of a particular house and wait as he would call his sister there itself.
As the girl waited for her friend, a man came from behind, pushed her inside and bolted the door. Four other men were already present in the room.
One of them started stripping her, while another took out a mobile phone and started taking pictures, a police officer said.
Finding herself trapped inside the room, the girl started screaming for help. Some passers-by heard her and knocked at the door.
The culprits then decided to leave her and ran away from the back door. Soon, police were informed and a manhunt launched. Rameshwar, 34, and Rahul, 22 have been arrested.
Rameshwar makes his living by ironing clothes and Rahul is into the dairy business.
They knew the victim and wanted to blackmail her by clicking her naked photos. The victim belongs to a poor family. Her parents also iron clothes. They hail from Uttar Pradesh and came to Delhi few years back.
Police have charged the arrested men under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and sections relating to wrongful confinement, and using criminal force on woman with intent to outrage modesty of a woman under the Indian Penal Code.
