Cong to review debacle in R'than

After a complete wipe out in Lok Sabha polls, state Congress party has finally decided to review its performance.

 A meeting of state party functionaries of each district and block committees has been called in Pradesh Congress Committee where senior leaders will try to find out the reasons of the defeat.

The two day marathon meeting will start from Friday.

Party leaders informed that  AICC General Secretary and state party in-charge Gurudas Kamat and PCC President Sachin Pilot will hold the feedback-cum-review meetings with district and block level party office-bearers.

Several senior leaders including former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will also remain present in the meeting.

Leader of Opposition in state assembly,  Rameshwar Dudi, and Mirza Irshad Beg, AICC Secretary will also discuss the future strategies to take forward the party in the backdrop of its defeat.

This is the first review meeting of the party after the elections. Sources in the party informed that many office bearers at district and block level may submit their resignation to PCC chief and state in-charge.

Top leadership is also cautious of the possible outburst of the party workers and leaders who have been blaming for being ignored. 

Many leaders have been blaming that despite pointing out the flaws in working of party in regular meeting, the top leadership developed the tendency to ignore the genuine suggestions.

This has been the main reason of defeat which may be raised in Friday’s meeting by many senior leaders.

Party spokesperson informed that top leaders would also take feedback from the party’s 25 contestants who lost the polls.

All district presidents and the 16 block presidents have been called to attend the two days’ assessment at the party headquarters here. BJP swept the polls in the state by claiming all 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan.
