Art transcends all barriers proves Ganesh Poojary, an upcoming artist from Mangalore.

Passionate about art since childhood, Poojary lived up to his dream of becoming a full time artist and today is trying to incorporate art in people’s life as an interior decorator.
Poojary who draws inspiration from nature has taken his artistic perspective a step beyond the canvas. Being a specialist in mural and texture art, one can find his creations carved on wood, embossed in metal and fiber.
Speaking to City Herald, Poojary says that he did not want to limit himself to the canvas. “Art is a subject of freedom and I wanted to experiment. Being fascinated with nature, I wanted to capture its essence in my art works. Most of my artwork is contemporary and abstract,” says Poojary and adds that his canvas does not have a limit. It can be of any shape, size, colour and material.
The artist is fascinated with nature, metallic and antique colours such as red, green, yellow, orange, burnt cyan and uses them extensively in his paintings. “Before I start any work, I have a concept in my mind. Then I start creating a texture that best suits my concept. The pictures are created over these textures,” he says. Speaking about his fascination for embossing, Poojary says that an emboss work looks different in different lights. A simple painting cannot deliver this effect.
Poojary is also keen on travelling, as visiting new places refreshes him and helps him think more creatively.
“The encouragement I got from my teachers and prizes I won, acted as a motivator for me to take up this field,” he says and adds that he took up a three year Diploma course in Mahalasa school of arts after his PUC.
“As an artist, I want the audience to feel the all round sensory pleasure in my artwork apart from its visual appreciation. One can excel only if he tries something out of the box by experimenting,” he adds.
The artwork of Ganesh has already found its place in several art exhibitions, that encouraged him to start his own venture called Rohith Decorators, where he along with others have formed a platform for texture and painting.
