Cyclone Yaas: Kolkata gets rain ahead of landfall
Cyclone Yaas, which is likely to make landfall in West Bengal and Odisha on May 26, spattered Kolkata with moderate rain and thunderstorms.
Yaas, a severe cyclonic storm, is likely to cross the West Bengal coast between on May 26.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said that the intensity of rain will depend on the cyclone movement.
However, cyclone 'Yaas' is likely to affect three northeastern states - Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim - causing moderate to heavy rains on May 26-27.
