Sixty-two teams of law students from India and abroad will take part in Delhi University’s Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, eighth Annual International Moot Court competition starting from Friday.
“Out of 62 teams, four are International teams. Each team will have three students. Last year there were around 58 teams,” said Avijit Sharma, organiser and student of the centre. International Criminal Law is the topic of the debate this year.
The court quarterfinals will be held in Law faculty campus for the first two days. The semi-finals and the final round will take place at India Habitat Center on January 22.
On Friday, professors from the George Washington Law School, US, will hold a workshop on speaking skills and advocacy.
“All the participants will get participatory certificates. The winners will get trophies with some prize money,” said Rohan Gupta, another student organiser. The competition is in the memory of criminal lawyer K K Luthra.
