The actor who mesmerized audiences with several notable films like Shatranj Ke Khiladi (1977), Noorie (1979), Chashme Buddoor (1981), Umrao Jaan( 1981) died of a heart attack in Dubai on December 27, 2013 creating a void. However, his skills as an actor and TV presenter would always be remembered.
His major contribution was towards Parallel Cinema. He worked with directors like Satyajit Ray, Muzaffar Ali, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Ketan Mehta.
