Starting this weekend, Apple enthusiasts in the country will be able to buy the latest iPads -- Air and Mini -- with prices starting Rs 28,900 onwards.

While the 16GB Wi-Fi only iPad mini with Retina display will be available for Rs 28,900, its corresponding iPad Air model will come with a price tag of Rs 35,900 from December 7 onwards.

The company has not announced the prices of the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants of iPad Air as of now.

Apple is introducing the new iPads to India soon after Google launched the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet in the country. A competitor to the iPad, the Nexus 7 is priced at Rs 20,999 for the 16GB variant.

Apple promises up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music and up to 9 hours of surfing the web using cellular data network on both the devices.
