BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi met actor Rajnikanth at his residence on Sunday evening.

Emerging out of the 20-minute meeting, Rajini told waiting reporters that there is nothing political about it.

“Modi is a very good friend. He vistited me when I was in the hospital. Since he wanted to meet me, he visited me today. It’s a courtesy call,” Rajani said outside his Poes Garden Residence, located a few metres away from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha residence.
Though Rajini might have dismissed it as a courtesy call, if one go by the reaction of the political observers, there is definitely politics involved in the meeting.

The meeting could impact the fortunes of the BJP and party would hope to bank on actor’s wide appeal.

Rajni had been dithering about entering politics unlike his colleagues — DMDK leader Vijaykanth and All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi leader Sarathkumar.
