Following the sighting of the moon in Mysuru, the District Moon Committee announced that the holy month of Ramzan starts on Thursday.

A meeting of the committee was held at the office of the Mysuru District Wakf Advisory Committee on Sayyaji Rao Road on Thursday night. The meeting was presided over by Sir Khazi of Mysuru Mohammed Usman Shariff. Ariff A Mehkri, convenor of the committee, collected information from various parts of the district. Many Muslim brethren sighted the moon at several places. So, it was decided to start fasting from Thursday, and Ramzan will start from Thursday.

Maqbool Ahmed Nizami, Mohammed Zaka Ulla Siddiqi, Mohamed Naseem Rishadi, Amjad Pasha, Syed Yunus, Syed Tajuddin, Rafiuddin Qasmi, Mohammed Mumtaz Ahmed, S Moinuddin Pasha, Mahmood Ali Khan alias Khurrath, legal co-ordinator Noor Ibrahim Khan Wakf Officer Abdul Khaleel, Wakf Inspector of Chamarajanagar Asiff Khan, Altaf Subhani and Munawer Pasha were present.
