Even as the governments, its ministers, departments and the officials are taking various measures to promote skills and entrepreneurship, a city youth, still a student, has become a skills trainer, entrepreneur and fashionist.

At present, he is in Indonesia to train professionals in a company providing cloud services. Suman D Gupta, a student of BCA in Vidhyaashram First Grade College, is the son of A S Rekha and B R Dinesh Gupta. He is passionate about both technology and creativity. He also uses them to complement each other.

“Subject to discrimination and ridicule due to my skin complexion as a child, my aim was to achieve something big and prove to all that complexion and appearance is not important. I started out as a volunteer for fashion shows while studying in class 11. Later, I became a model and did various shoots for several corporate companies, including Myntra. I also participated in several fashion pageants and won titles such as Mr Photogenic of Karnataka 2015,” he recalls.

“Several fashion bloggers motivated me to take up this field. I took up the job as a fashion choreographer. My six-step method helps a model walk the ramp like a professional in a matter of few hours. I plan the shows systematically. The six key points I function around are: finding a store or designer, music, order, theme, walk, day of preparation. I have choreographed for various events like Jayciyana and got an opportunity to work with Urvashi Rautela for some time,” said Gupta.

He is an entrepreneur and owns Fusion X, an event managing company. I represented South India in a social entrepreneurship project, based on web development and cloud computing to help achieve sustainable development in Egypt. “At present, I am working on a project as a technical resource person at Punya Kyte, a web-development and cloud services company in Indonesia. I am a self-made man and thank my parents for supporting me,” he said. His skills vary from digital marketing, event planning, graphics and designs, Android studio, media planning, social media management, fashion design and fashion choreography.
