Scarlett O'Hara costume fetches $137,000 at auction

Do you remember the outfit which Vivien Leigh had donned in the movie 'Gone With The Wind'? Well, the gray jacket and skirt was recently auctioned at Beverly Hills, California and amazingly, it fetched $137,000.

In the 1939s movie, Vivien Leigh had sported this outfit for portraying the character of Scarlett O’Hara.

Originally, the colour of the dress was slate blue-gray and now, it has faded to a lighter gray colour.

Not only this costume, but many other items from the movie were also auctioned on the same day by James Tumblin, former hair and makeup department in-charge at Universal Studios.

Tumblin had got the Scarlett O’Hara outfit from the costume company for just $20 and now it has fetched him a whooping $137,000.
