SIT team to participate in SAE aero design contest in USA

A team of engineering students of Tumakuru's Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT university) will participate in an aero design competition hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), California, USA. The contest will be held between April 6-8.    

In a national-level competition titled 'Manovegam' hosted at SIT by SAE's Bengaluru chapter, the  team won the first place for its design and a working model of a radio controlled, unmanned aircraft.    

As many as 75 teams will compete in the SAE competition in California. Including the SIT team, five teams from India will take part in the USA contest.

SIT students had participated in 2013, 2014 and 2016 and won awards.  

This year, the students led by Alok Raj and guided by Assistant Professor Dr Shivasiddaramaiah of the mechanical engineering department, are bound for America to take part in the competition. The college director Dr Channabasappa has wished them the best.
