Student shot inside classroom at Uttar Pradesh varsity

A postgraduate student was shot and critically injured inside a  classroom at Allahabad University in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

According to the police sources here, the victim Nagendra Singh was shot while he was sitting in the classroom by a former varsity student, identified as Sardar Singh.

Sardar Singh managed to flee after perpetrating the crime, sources said. Nagendra was rushed to the hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.

A case was registered and raids were being conducted to nab the culprit, police said adding that an old enmity is stated to be the reason behind the incident.
