Sub-inspector and constable arrested for taking bribe

The anti corruption bureau on Saturday arrested two policemen, including a sub inspector, for allegedly taking a bribe in separate incidents in Rajasthan.

SI Raman Bharadwaj posted with Pilani police station in Jhunjhunu had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a man named Narendra Jat for not implicating his cousin Kalia, an accused in theft case, and another case, ACB sources said. He took Rs 5,000 on Friday and was caught on Saturday while accepting the remaining amount.

In another incident, constable Chhel Singh of Luni police station in Jodhpur district was caught while taking a bribe of Rs 1,500. He had demanded the bribe Hariram, who was held for liquor smuggling, in order to ‘settle’ the case, they added.
