A twin suicide attack on a convoy of buses transporting Afghan police cadets in Kabul killed 30 people and wounded 58 on Thursday, Afghanistan’s interior ministry said.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the bloodshed, condemned as a “crime against humanity” by President Ashraf Ghani.

“The convoy of buses transporting newly graduated police was targeted by two suicide attackers,” a statement by the interior ministry said.

The attack comes days after 14 Nepali security guards, who were heading to work at the Canadian embassy, were killed in a massive blast that left their minibus spattered with blood.
