For the first time in 20 years, Krishnarajasagar (KRS) dam in Srirangapatna taluk, has crossed the 100-ft mark in the month of June. The water level as on June 17 was 101.40 feet.

The water level in the dam went up by 23 feet in the
last week as heavy rain lashed Cauvery catchment areas.
It may be mentioned that
the water level had come down to 73 feet in April, forcing the authorities to stop release of water into the canals.

On Sunday, the inflow to KRS stood at 17,096 cusec and outflow 368 cusec. The water level on the corresponding day last year was 67.86 feet.
