Kuvempu (1904-1994) is one of the most widely sung Kannada poets of the 20th century, and continues to be a favourite among singers today.

His Jaya Bharata jananiya tanujate is the state anthem, and he is known for his rousing songs about the Kannada language and land.

Kuvempu also wrote delicate love poems, some of which were adapted into films.

His lyrics constitute concert standards for sugama sangeeta (bhavageete) singers, who perform them on stage with the poetry of other masters.

On December 29, his birth anniversary, DH Digital is proud to present this playlist of 10 Kuvempu songs featured in films.
