A woman chopped off her husband's genitals after accusing him of cheating on her.
The mother of two children, who reside in Ludhiana, used a kitchen knife to bobbitise her husband at their home and then flushed his sex organ down the toilet.
The woman, 35-year old Sukhwant Kaur, suspected her husband of an extra-marital relationship with one of his student from Himachal Pradesh.
The man, 40-year-old Aazad Singh, is battling for his life in a private hospital in Ludhiana.
Following an altercation, Sukhwant hit her husband with a rod on the head. Singh fell unconscious on the floor. She then used the knife to cut her husband's sex organs. Kaur has been arrested on charges of attempt to murder after Singh's father filed a complaint.
Sources said the issue of an alleged extra-marital affair had been simmering between the two for the past few months. The issue took an ugly turn on Tuesday when Kaur saw text messages exchanged between her husband and a girl student.
Doctors said the man continues to remain in a critical condition more because of the head injury he suffered in the melee. His doctors said the man's testicles were intact and may survive, but it is unlikely that he leads a normal life.
