A complex love triangle, jealousy and subsequent threats led to the murder of a 20-year-old hotel management student whose body was found in a car parked in south Delhi on Thursday. Two of the three accused have been arrested, police said on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Satish alias Sunny, 23, a resident of Khanpur, and 27-year-old Virender, a resident of Ghitorni.

They were held after Daksh, a resident of south-east Delhi’s Sarita Vihar, was found dead in a Ritz near Sultanpur Metro station.

Police were informed by a security guard employed with the parking lot of the Metro station around 1.30 pm.

When a team of local police reached the spot, Daksh’s body was found in the rear seat of the car. “He had sustained a blunt injury on his head and was declared dead on the spot,” said a police officer.

Investigations revealed that the car belonged to Daksh’s friend Mukesh Mehra. “Mukesh’s questioning revealed that they had personal enmity with Satish,” the officer added. Satish has criminal history and was involved in several cases of robbery in NCR.

Mukesh told police that he was in a relationship with a woman named Sona, which was opposed by Satish. It is claimed that Satish was also in love with her and had threatened Mukesh with dire consequences.

Satish had also gone to Mukesh’s house where he told his mother to keep him away from Sona but the couple ignored the warnings.

Daksh used to support Mukesh, which had also led to heated arguments between Daksh and Satish. On Thursday, Daksh and Mukesh had gone to a club in Gurgaon with Sona.

“Satish along with accomplices Virender and Amit followed Mukesh’s car after they left the club,” the officer said.

On the way, Mukesh and Sona went to a house in Sikandarpur, while Daksh took the car. Near Sultanpur Metro station, the three men forced Daksh to stop the car after which he was beaten up with sticks.

A case of murder has been filed. Raids are being conducted to nab Amit.
