'Big Bang Theory', Downey Jr win big at People Choice Awards

Hollywood superstar Robert Downey Jr and popular sitcom 'The Big Bang Theory' bagged two and three trophies respectively at the People Choice Awards.

The 49-year-old 'Iron Man' star was voted by fans as the Favourite Movie Actor and the Favourite Dramatic Movie Actor, reported Entertainment Weekly.

'The Big Bang Theory' was declared as the Favourite TV show and Favourite Network TV Comedy, and its star Kaley Cuoco received the award for Favourite Comedic TV Actress.

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence also took home two honours-- Favourite Movie Actress and Favourite Action Movie Actress.

Favourite Movie of the evening was Angelina Jolie's hit film 'Maleficent', which also received the honour for the Favourite Family Movie.

'Divergent' was chosen as the Favourite Action Movie while its stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James were voted as the Favourite Movie couple. Chris Evans was voted as the Favourite Action Movie Actor.

Favourite Comedic Movie award went to '22 Jump Street'. Adam Sandler was declared as the Favourite Comedic Movie Actor and Melissa McCarthy was voted as the Favourite Comedic Movie Actress.

Hit romantic-tragedy film 'The Fault in Our Stars' won the award for Favourite Dramatic Movie. Favourite Dramatic Movie Actress award went to Chloë Grace Moretz.

'Gone Girl' was announced as the Favourite Thriller Movie.

Veteran actress Betty White was voted as the Favourite TV Icon, while Jimmy Fallon received the Favourite Late Night Talk Show Host award. Ellen DeGeneres was voted as Favourite Daytime TV Host.

Popular on-screen couple of Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder from TV drama 'Vampire Diaries' received the Favourite TV Duo award while Favourite Network TV drama is 'Grey's Anatomy'.

Grey's stars Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo were named the Favourite Dramatic TV actors.

The Simpsons' bagged the Favourite Animated TV Show trophy. Singer Ed Sheeran was announced as the Favourite Male Artist and his second studio album 'X' became the Favourite Album.

Taylor Swift was voted as the Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Pop Artist and her song 'Shake It Off' became the Favourite Song.

Iggy Azalea was declared as the Favourite Hip-Hop Artist. 'Happy' singer Pharrell Williams was voted as the Favourite R&B Artist.

'Orange Is The New Black' was named as Favourite TV Dramady.
