Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland on Monday confirmed that it bagged an order from the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) for 3,019 buses, translating to an order worth Rs 650 crore.

This order would be executed in the current financial year, which would help Ashok Leyland in furthering its leadership position in buses.

Speaking about the order, Ashok Leyland MD Vinod K Dasari said, “We are very happy to receive the confirmation of this order from KSRTC. Our ability to bring value to customers like KSRTC, is testament to our superior technology and innovation, combined with low costs.”

This order will fulfill requirements from the KSRTC, as well as the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC), Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC).
