While Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), saw a 22.64 per cent growth in sales at 47,217 units for December last year, Maruti Suzuki India reported 50.6 per cent jump in its sales at 84,804 units during the same period.

Similarly, Mahindra & Mahindra and Skoda Auto both claimed growth in sales, with M&M  more than doubling  growth at 22,754 units, as against 10,253 units in the same month previous year and SkodaAuto reporting a 52.05 per cent growth at 1,113 units.

And Ford India followed with a three per cent jump in its sales selling 29,499 vehicles in 2009.

Following a similar trend, two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company, also reported a 34 per cent zoom in its sales for the month of December 2009.

According to an official release, the company reported a net sales of 1.19 lakh units in December 2009 against 89,285 units a year ago. And Yamaha Motor India said its sales jumped 60 per cent to 2.18 lakh units compared to the previous year’s. And country’s biggest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda Motors reported 74.05 per cent jump in its sales in December 2009 at 3,75,838 units as against 2,15,931 units in the same month last year.
