Created by BCIC Expert Committee on Taxation headed by Deolitte Haskins & Sells partner K R Sekar, it contains recommendations from and the rationale for the recommendations, besides analysis of important aspects of DTC. Briefing reporters, BCIC President K R Girish said “the document is a comprehensive study made by experts on DTC,” adding the booklet will be sent to the Finance Ministry soon.
Further, Sekar said some of the key recommendations include total abolition of MAT assets, as it affects manufacturing and infrastructure sector. It also recommends retention of sops to special economic zones (SEZs), anti-avoidance et al.
