In what is being seen as an implicit signal of it getting a second term, the Narendra Modi government is preparing to present a full Budget in 2019 ahead of the general elections to the Lok Sabha.

Mint reports that the budget will be focused on an ambitious expenditure programme, with a full presentation on February 1, 2019, according to finance ministry officials. This will be the last budget the current NDA government presents ahead of the Lok Sabha elections but will not be a vote-on-account.

The finance ministry has sent letters to central government departments and ministries to submit their inputs on the next budget by November 30.
