Centre seeks Westside space for handicrafts

"I will write to Ratan Tata and tell him that in his Westside Stores, he must allocate four shelves to handloom and handicrafts,” Textiles Secretary Rita Menon told PTI.

Supporting the idea, Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India Managing Director Nirmal Sinha said it would help reach handicraft products across the country.

“Hand weavers will get extra space to market their products. It will be altogether a separate space as Tatas have their outlets all over India,” Sinha said.
