Cleartrip unveils 'Local' on its app

Online travel agency Cleartrip on Tuesday launched a new segment called ‘Local’ on its app.

Talking to Deccan Herald, Cleartrip Chief Marketing Officer Subramanya Sharma said, “Consumers can select anything under four broad categories – activities, eat out, fitness and events.” Sharma explained, “There’s a wide bouquet of offerings, from outdoor and indoor activities, adventures, theme parks, fitness, day outings, sightseeing, excursions, art and craft, skill and hobbies, to the best of food and beverages and gourmet experiences and events.” With over 13,000 experiences in 240 categories across 50+ cities from 7,000 suppliers, Local is an exclusively curated set of things-to-do for our customers, Sharma added. Cleartrip claims to be earning a margin of 15-20% from its hotel and activities businesses and a margin of 5-6% from the flights business.
