Multinational firm Accenture has locked its profile on X amid calls to fire Nikita Singhania following the suicide of her ex-husband, Atul Subhash.
Subhash, who worked for a private firm in the city, had left behind a 24-page purported death note, giving extensive details of what he alleged was years-long emotional distress of marital issues, multiple cases filed against him and harassment by his wife, her relatives, and a judge based in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Multiple social media posts called on Accenture to fire the wife. The firm's posts were also flooded with comments asking them to fire her. As such, the company locked its profile on the platform.

On user said, " How many more innocent men will give up on their lives for all the false cases filed against them by their wives? The govt needs to look into this & should enact laws for men or make changes to the current laws that unconditionally empower women."
Another said, "So @AccentureIndia @Accenture you still wanted to be proud employers of Nikita Singhania a lady who harassed and provoked her ex-husband #AtulSubhash till he not committed suicide? @JulieSweet as CEO of #Accenture do you support her? strange you haven't fired her yet."
Reacting to Accenture locking their profile, a user said, "Nikita Singhania's Employer Accenture locked profile due to the backlash it's facing aftermath of viral Atul Subhash's Suicide not video.
Instead Accenture could have Suspended Nikita and put matters to rest."
In a response to the case and the subsequent outrage on social media, singer and voice actress Chinmayi Sripaada brought focus to the fact that if men "capable of mobilising support, raising funds, even attempting to force Accenture to fire the woman, reaching out to top management and more," then they can but choose not to do anything to protect women and provide safety.
In a post on X she said, "One thing I understand from the Atul Subhash case is that so many of these men are capable of mobilising support, raising funds, even attempting to force Accenture to fire the woman, reaching out to top management and more.
When they want to, they will.
So if they haven’t done anything so far to make sure rapes and child sexual abuse happen (especially for men and male survivors of sexual violence), Or even something like corruption and holding politicians accountable - you know why.
Some of these people wont even do the needful to set up ICCs and POCSO units in the schools they send their kids to. They dont care if their kid gets abused in school. Even if it is their kid they ll probably call them a liar by habit and attempt to close the case by settling in a police station.
They dont WANT to dismantle these systems that gives them power to abuse someone else.
So people here can. Just that they dont want to."
According to police, preliminary investigations revealed Subhash had been facing marital discord with his wife, who had also registered a case against him in Uttar Pradesh. He also sent his death note via email to several people and shared it with a WhatsApp group of an NGO he was associated with, the officer said.
