Bengaluru: The country's largest IT services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a wage hike for 80% of its employees amid macro uncertainty and layoffs. According to an internal email, viewed by DH, the wage hike will be effective September 1, 2025.

Earlier, the company during its first quarter earnings conference said it had not made any decisions over a potential wage hike for its employees.

As of June 30, 2025, the IT firm's total number of employees stood at 613,069, and in the June quarter alone it added 5,090 employees. Recently, the company announced about 12,260 job cuts that will affect employees in the middle and the senior grades over the course of this financial year.

The email from TCS Chief HR Officer Milind Lakkad and K Sudeep, CHRO Designate read, "We are pleased to announce a compensation revision for all eligible employees in grades up to C3A and equivalent, covering 80% of our workforce. We would like to thank each one of you for your dedication and hard work, as we build the future of TCS together."

The second largest IT services firm Infosys had rolled out wage hikes in two parts- The first part was effective January 2025 and the second phase was rolled out in April 2025.
