London: Google said on Tuesday that digital services, such as its search engine, will power new economic development in Britain, after the country's competition regulator launched an investigation into the tech giant's search services.
"We look forward to engaging constructively and laying out how our services benefit UK consumers and also businesses, as well as the trade-offs inherent in any new regulations," the company said in a blog post.
"We welcome the recognition of the importance of digital technologies to power growth, and the need to align regulatory decisions with the government's growth mission," it added.
