Bengaluru: Lifestyle e-commerce platform Myntra announced its entry into quick commerce in select locations of Bengaluru, on Thursday. Its pilot into the quick delivery service, M-Now guarantees delivery within 30 minutes of order. The Flipkart-owned company will also expand its operations to other metro and non-metro cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Pune in the upcoming months.
Speaking on the move, Nandita Sinha, chief executive officer said, “Fashion, a highly aspirational category, thrives on a diverse selection that empowers customers to style their complete look. This is just the beginning, and as we advance in our M-Now journey, Myntra will continue to sharpen the offering on multiple fronts, including selection and the speed promise.”
With this, Myntra has become the first online fashion retailer to enter the booming rapid delivery sector, showcasing the shifting trends in the way consumers shop. In November, Myntra piloted M-Now in select pin codes of Bengaluru to test its feasibility, before officially launching on Thursday.
While Myntra offers a variety of brands, its peer, Blinkit, has already announced a 10-minute return and exchange service for clothing and footwear in select Indian cities, in October this year.
According to media reports, a handful of fashion e-commerce companies, including Myntra, were considering adding a fee for return and exchange late last year, given the additional cost. However, it wasn’t put into force. Myntra’s returns and exchange policy is applicable on products bought via its rapid delivery arm, M-Now too.
Highlighting its focus on the generation Z (GenZ), the company said that they have been at the front and center of shaping fashion choices and with direct to consumer (D2C) brands catering to the preferences of this target audience. They will remain the focus of M-Now.
As reported earlier, analysts see upcoming D2C brands posing a challenge to the existing big brands, owing to their customised and selective offerings to consumers.
It may be recalled that the fashion and lifestyle platform had launched a 48 hours delivery service called M-Express in metro cities, in 2022. This was the company’s first move to cater to speed sensitive customers.
