Disclosing progress being made to start trading again, DSE CEO H S Sidhu told PTI that “arrangements are being made to resume business operations. We are confident that trading operations will be in full swing by October this year.”

He further said that a target of Rs 500 crore worth of trading every day for six months has been set. It will be increased to Rs 1,000 crore per day in one year.  DSE was one of the country’s largest stock exchanges. It went defunct in 2002 due to negligible trade. There had been efforts on and off to resurrect the bourse. But the revival remained a classic slip between the cup and the lip.
