Priced at Rs 5,000, Grover Zampa Vineyards’ first magnum launch Insignia, has become the dearest Indian wine in the market.
“Insignia is our first magnum wine, which will be marketed magnum only, as the packaging is most suitable for ageing. Insignia is the most premium wine from Grover Zampa Vineyards, having been aged for two years in barrels and a year in the bottle,” said Sumedh Mandle, CEO, Grover Zampa Wines.
Of the total 300 bottles produced, 200 have been made available for purchase by invitation only, while the company has committed to export the remaining. Hoping to make this launch an annual event, the CEO said, “For long, Indian wine has not disregarded when compared with international wine. The superior quality of Insignia proves India’s mettle in wine production. Being the most expensive Indian wine in the market, its price is driven by the time and quality that has gone into producing it,” he said.
Alongside, it is gearing up for the pan-India launch of its new range of sparkling wines this November. The company, which sold two lakh cases last year, grew 50%, both in terms of production and distribution, the CEO said.
