Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI), on Thursday, introduced its first mass motorcycle for the Indian market in the City.
Based on the company’s popular Dream line of bikes, the new ‘Honda Dream Yuga’, will now compete with compatriots such as Suzuki, which recently launched the ‘Hayate’, and also a host of other homegrown players with products aimed at the mass-mobility demand market in the country.
The Dream Yuga runs on a refined 110cc Honda engine, delivering 8.5bhp @ 7500rpm of power. The engine is equipped with the Honda Intelligent Ignition Control System, which changes ignition timings as per the load conditions to attain ideal combustion, leading to improved power output and efficiency. Honda claims that the Dream Yuga delivers a mileage of 72 kmpl.
In terms of appearance, the new bike is subtle and to the point, keeping in mind the Indian commuters’ practical needs. Certain innovations, though, include options like tubeless tyres/tuff-up tube, which largely improves ride quality and sustainability, besides a long seat, full gear lever and full chain case.
Available in three variants namely, Kick/Drum/Spoke, Kick/Drum/Alloy and Self/Drum/Alloy, across five colours, the Honda Dream Yuga can be bought for a price of Rs 47,087 (ex-showroom Bangalore).
