With 79 per cent donations, the education sector remained the most favoured philanthropic cause followed by healthcare (five per cent) and disaster relief and management (three per cent) according to the Hurun India Wealth Report 2020. In 2021 too, much of the donations could be towards healthcare, owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, the report noted. Here is a list of philanthropists and the sectors they most contributed towards:
