Hundreds of passengers who had booked flights of the country’s largest airline, IndiGo, were stranded at the Kempegowda International Airport and in airports nationwide following network issues on Monday.

As passengers sat in airport terminas and even inside flights that did not take off on time, the airline tweeted: “Our systems are down across the network. We are expecting the counters to be crowded more than usual. Please bear with us as we try to solve the issue ASAP.”

The issue was eventually resolved, but for passengers, the clueless wait for hours was too much to bear.

Tweeted a passenger, Anubhav Singh: “I’ve boarded the flight 6E2032 from Bangalore to Delhi at 10:30 am and we are still in the flight at the Bangalore airport itself, please ask your captain to announce the actual reasons for this.”

However, the airline responded, informing that the flight was delayed due to the late arrival of the incoming aircraft. “Our systems were down as well. But they are updated now. We regret your inconvenience.” Another traveller from Mumbai’s Terminal-2 had this to say: “Chaos. No one knows when it will be resolved.”

IndiGo’s network issues came amid flight delays and cancellations due to poor visibility sparked by the hazardous air pollution in Delhi.
