"Akshay will soon be seen promoting the new LED range from the LG stable on all National multi-mediums," LG Electronics India (LGEIL) said in a statement.This is the first time the company has associated with any celebrity for endorsing its flat panel displays.
The company said it would go aggressive with its marketing campaigns and launch a series of products in the segment this year to push sales of its flat panel televisions.
"We are aiming to be No 1 in flat panel TV market with a targeted market share of 33 per cent in 2010. To achieve this we are coming up with whole new series of Full LED LCD TV's...We have chosen Akshay as our brand ambassador for LG FPDs because he personifies the LG brand." LGEIL Managing Director Moon B Shin said.The company had earlier said it will launch advanced version of LED in 2010 and is hopeful of selling up to 3 lakh units by the end of this year.
