The S500L Limousine—the first of its kind ever to be made in India—will be priced at Rs 95 lakh and GL350 will be priced between Rs 66 lakh and Rs 69 lakh in New Delhi showrooms.
“The S500L will be unassembled at our plant and it will be the most expensive luxury sedan ever produced in India. We will import the GL350CI as a complete built unit,” Mercede Benz India Managing Director & Chief Executive Wilfried G Aulbur said.
Albur said the company expects to post double-digit sales growth this year compared to previous year. The company sold 3,247 cars in India in 2009 compare to 3,625 vehicles in 2008.
“Our sales were lower in 2009 as we replaced our existing E-class with a new model, and there was a waiting period on the new cars,” Aulbur said after launching new cars.
